Did you know Resistance Sports Science staff are qualified to work with NDIS self managed athletes or everyday individuals? Led by our team of allied health professionals including Physiotherapy, Remedial Therapy, Chiropractic and Exercise Physiology staff, the team at Resistance will ensure your exercise or Rehab plan is carefully devised to suite your goals and timelines. Often, NDIS self managed participants are looking for a long term approach to healthy living, fitness and injury prevention.
After a phone call from our reception staff, all self managed NDIS participants will be designated to an allied health professional suited to their situation, goals and particular requests. Our NDIS programs are tailored to provide long term results which focus not only on exercise but education and decision making. Our friendly staff will teach all NDIS participants how to lift objects and move correctly and how to activate particular muscle groups to avoid injury. Providing it is safe to do so, all NDIS self managed participants will have regular opportunities to use the gym under supervision ontop of their regular one on one training or rehab sessions.
Remedial Massage is an NDIS favourite and it may be covered by the NDIS or an aged care plan. This can happen in circumstances where the patient has limited movement or if their quality of life is being impacted by physical or bio-mechanical problems.
It would be a good idea for the patient to talk to their planner or plan supervisor in order to determine if this is feasible. Also, if the patient has a NDIS self managed fund can simply book and pay for the treatment. Then make a claim request for the amount that was charged. A remedial massage treatment is definitely a great way to improve movement and maintain function, manage pain and improve quality of life. It has proven results to increase mobility and the "loose" feeling that muscle relaxation creates.
Remedial massage is a staple in many of our NDIS self managed plans as it works simultaneously with our exercise programs. It is fantastic for recovery of tight and sore muscles and it allows our NDIS participants to back it up and get to training over and over again! Together, we see these two modalities as an integral part of sustaining a healthy mental and physical state.
Physiotherapy is also covered via NDIS self managed participants and is particularly used for long term and acute injuries. Our friendly physiotherapy team are qualified and experienced to work with an extensive range of injuries. Our Physiotherapy team will devise a specific plan to ensure any injuries are managed over the short and long term with particular emphasis placed on a sustainable exercise plan to promote healthy living.
